Select Board · Meeting of August 26, 2026
ASHBY — The Ashby Select Board voted 2-0 to authorize a no-cost grant application to extend public water to a Main Street business whose well tested positive for PFAS. Town Administrator Jessica Callan said the Emerging Contaminants and Small or Disadvantaged Communities grant would be "100 percent covered" by federal funds, using engineering already completed by Weston and Sampson. The board also approved a payroll warrant of $86,645.87 and a vendor warrant of $113,653.20, both 2-0.
Planning Board Chair Andrew Leonard's proposed complete streets policy was tabled for two weeks after a member asked, "Is this going to affect grants for Chapter 90 money to pave roads?" Members also agreed, following a request from resident Kathy Boularis, to begin reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at future meetings.
